Who Is It For?  Cat owners that wish to take the work out of cleaning the cat litter box

The ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box  automatically cleans your cat’s litter box to keep it fresh and clean.  You no longer have to scoop all the time since the work is done for you.  Replacement of the litter is a breeze and your cat will love having a clean box all the time!

  • Crystal litter is absorbent and takes the moisture out of waste to control odors
  • Waste is locked away to eliminate smell and having to touch the waste
  • Timer allows for 3 different raking timer settings
  • Replacing the litter is easy and hygienic
  • For cat’s with health issues –  there is a counter to track cat’s output

Since the box is self – cleaning, it can be left alone for weeks. Sensors within the box determine when your cat uses the box and the crystals do their job of absorbing and dehydrating.  The waste is raked and then  pushed into the trap.  The litter is supplied in a tray that needs to be replaced every few weeks.

The maker of the ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box provides the following tips to get your cat used to this new box:

  • Put the ScoopFree box next to the original box for 1 week to let the cat use both
  • Mix up the litter types in both boxes
  • Stop cleaning the old box. Since your cat prefers a clean toilet, this encourages him to use the new box
  • Remove the old box once he is using the ScoopFree box

  • Self-cleaning for weeks at a time
  • Crystal litter is significantly more effective at removing odor than traditional litters
  • Built-in health counter
  • Hooded to keep litter in the box and gives your cat privacy

  • For multi-cat households,  litter needs to be changed approximately once a week
  • The cost of litter  – $39.99 for a replacement pack of 3 trays.

The ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box, based on the majority of the reviews, saves time and labor in regards to scooping and keeping the box clean while controlling odors. Owners with more than one cat need to be prepared to change the litter tray as often as weekly.  This seems reasonable considering more urine and waste is involved.  I see cost as the major deciding factor. This litter box is without a doubt expensive when compared to a standard litter box and replacement litter.  On the other hand, have you ever met a cat owner that enjoyed maintaining the litter box?

ScoopFree seems to be a great solution that can save time and effort for a smelly job. I would give it a thumbs up for cat owners that have the budget for it since it takes the work out of caring for a cat. For medical reasons, I am able to have a cat in my home, but I am not allowed to scoop litter or handle waste. So for me, the ScoopFree would make it safe for me to care for a cat again!

Thanks for taking the time to read my review  and please feel free to leave a comment or share your experience with the ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box.

  • This is a great product. I have some friends who use this with their cats (4) and they swear by it. Their house never smells when we visit and the cats are always really happy.

We are looking to get a cat soon, when we get our own place. We will definitely be getting this litterbox as it is one job I want to be doing as little as possible.

    Thanks for sharing this!

    • Hi Adam, glad to hear you say that this litter box can stand the test of 4 users and still there is no odor!! My cat Zoey recently passed away and I am thinking of looking for her predecessor. Since I hate the cleaning-the-litter-box-job too, I will have to start saving to get an ScoopFree Ultra for my new cat:-)

      Take Care, Erin

  • Hi there… haha… I own only 1 cat and should have no ways to face those cons of this product. Instead, I’ll only need to replace the litter tray once after few weeks, and I don’t feel the cost of the litter replacement is too expensive. I can do one replacement only after a few weeks. I think 3 trays for around $40 is still quite worthy given that those trays can last more than 2 months for my lone cat. I might give this product a try, thank you for sharing this, Erin… 😀

    • Hi Paige, you are welcome! I think it looks like a great product too. The replacement litter trays really are not too expensive, considering how long they last and how much work they save. My cat passed away a few months ago and I think it is time for me to adopt a new kitty. I think that I will also need to get the ScoopFree Ultra!

  • I have thought about adopting a cat from a shelter but it seems that every time I bring up the idea my family always says how litter boxes smell and you have to clean them all the time. This looks like the perfect solution and is something to look into! Thanks for the information!

    • Hi Brianna, This litter box is ingenious as far as I am concerned. It pretty much does the work for you and controls the odor. You cat is happy since the box stays clean, so it is a win-win for everybody! Glad to hear you will adopt from a shelter, it is a great way to help a cat and the rescue.

      Take Care,

  • This is a wonderful product. I don’t have cats, but my son does have a cat and I like this. This will make a great Christmas present. Since him and his wife work all day long….and I know the litter box gets forgotten about sometimes….this will make life easier for them. Thanks so much for sharing the self cleaning litter box!

    • Hi Matt’s Mom, glad you like the ScoopFree Ultra, it really would be great for cats that are alone all day and for the humans that sometimes forget to scoop. It would make a wonderful gift. So good that I have a couple of family members that are hinting that they need one this holiday season!

      Take Care,

  • This sounds like a great product for cat owners, and practically a necessity for those with health concerns, or even ladies who are pregnant (they are advised not to touch cat littter due to toxoplasmosis concerns.) Great product! They need to somehow create a similar product for picking up doggie waste! 🙂

    • Hi Martina, thanks for the great comments! It is a great product for those with health concerns. I will be adopting a new cat in the near future and I will also be having a lung transplant and will not be able to handle cat litter. So the ScoopFree is a no-brainer for me. A product to pick up dog waste is long overdue. I laughed at this comment since I just saw a new product video where you strap on a belt that holds a small bag over the dog’s rear end. All I could think was my dog’s would never let me put that on them!

      Take Care,
